Make Your Voice Heard

Would you be interested in having an impact on Opus development? Would you like to help us make the application easier and more useful? We’re currently seeking volunteers to participate in our user research program. Our approach will be low-impact, involving just a short visit to your office (about one hour), where we’ll ask you about your experience. We’ll supply any materials required. If you would like to participate, please write Opus Help.

The Eight Year Clock

If an appointee is subject to the Eight-Year Limit, Opus tracks their progress toward that limit on the Eight Year Clock tab on the Profile page. Please validate this data for all your assistants, and contact us if an assistant was given a year off the clock and it’s not recorded in their “TOC Credited” column.

New Hire from UC?

For appointees who started at another UC campus before coming to UCLA, remember that the Start Dates for Series, Rank and Step on their appointments should reflect the entirety of their UC service.

For example, let’s say an assistant professor starts at step 1 at UC Merced on July 1, 2015. They then move on to UCLA as an assistant professor at step 2, effective July 1, 2017. Their Start Date at Series and at Rank in Opus would still be July 1, 2015, because they started in their current Rank and Series with their appointment at Merced.
