Faculty Task Guides

We continue to make progress on task guides for faculty. The newest is How to Submit a Form in Interfolio, which joins How to Access Interfolio for Faculty and the newly simplified versions of Opus for Review Candidates, Opus for Review Committee Members, and Opus for Deans and Chairs in this set. We see these as a resource that can be passed directly to faculty, streamlining your process and addressing issues ahead of time. More to come in the near future!

Zoom Picks Up Steam

To everyone who attended last week’s online training session, we would like to say “Thank You!” We’re planning the next session, currently slated to cover the topic of Permissions and Roles in Interfolio. While this topic may sound obscure, this information will prove invaluable for departments and schools seeking to optimize their efficiency in Interfolio. You can sign up starting now, and if you have a topic you’d like to see us cover in a future training session, let us know by responding to our survey.

Custom Sessions, Tailored Help

Staff from Academic Personnel and the Opus project hold regular “office hours” to assist Opus users with cases, and to answer questions about Opus and Interfolio. These are focused, one-on-one sessions, during which you can ask about any AP topic whatsoever. Our next Office Hours are this Friday and next Wednesday. Please sign up for a timeslot on our Office Hours Google Spreadsheet and remember to bring case files and/or materials with you.

Reminders

Check Yourself Before You…

About to send a case forward to the next step in Interfolio? Before doing so, please check that the correct committee is on the next step. The quickest way to see this is to click the “Send Forward” button, which will show you the name of the committee(s) that will have access to the case at the next step. If there’s any doubt about who’s on those committee(s), or whether individuals may need to be recused, please wait to send forward until you go into the Edit Case page, click the Case Review Steps section, and verify committee membership by clicking on Edit Committee. If you have any questions, please write Opus Help.

Document Visibility at Send-Forward

When you upload documents to a case in Interfolio, you can select one of three options for who can view them:

  1. Administrators and Entire Committee
  2. Administrators and Committee Managers, or
  3. Administrators Only

Please be aware of these settings. For example, a document with access set to Administrators Only would not be visible to a review committee or chair.

Regardless of the access options you maintain during departmental review, please set the access options of all packet/dossier materials to the first option above, Administrators and Entire Committee, before you send the case forward to dean’s office or APO steps.
