The Opus system will be down on Thursday the 19th from 8 am until 12 noon. During this period we’ll be upgrading our system to Opus 2.1, which will bring the following enhancements:
Initial appointment cases for new hires via online review can be processed in Interfolio.
Salary fixes (part 1 of 2): Split Appointees will now have one annualized salary rate. Part 2 of this fix, incorporating the July 2017 range and discretionary salary adjustments, will occur during the first week of November.

New Article: Case Materials Contents
Opus requires that certain documents be included, and that these appear in a particular order, in the dossier associated with academic personnel actions. This week we’re spotlighting an Opus Support Site article detailing the materials that should appear in Interfolio’s Case Materials tab:
As departments start to customize the templates that the Opus team has set up for them in Interfolio, an important step is to remove from the candidate requirements any documents that the department plans on uploading on the candidate’s behalf. This prevents Interfolio from telling the candidate to submit a document that administrators plan to upload instead.
By default, Interfolio assigned the campus APO administrators committee to the review steps in our templates. Please look over your cases to make sure you’ve removed that committee from all the departmental and dean’s office review steps.
Faculty Do Not Log in to Opus
Administrative staff create and track cases in Opus, while faculty administrators (Chairs, Vice Chairs, Deans, Vice Deans, etc.) can log into Opus to view rosters and eligibility. All other academic appointees, including candidates and committee members, interact with online case review exclusively through interfolio.com. See our user guide articles, Opus for Review Candidates and Opus for Reviewers, for more information.
The New Opie is Sooo Easy…
We’re pleased to announce another drawing for a fabulous Opie prize! This time, we’re asking our users to come up with suggestions for how we can improve our documentation or training. Write us with your suggestion at opushelp@ucla.edu. If we like what we hear, we’ll (a) do it, (b) put your name on the Opies Wall of Fame, and (c) enter you in a drawing for one of our notoriously luxurious prizes. ☆
