This articles details the steps for accessing Interfolio cases through Opus. For information on logging into the site directly, please see the article How to Access Interfolio for Faculty.

The instructions assume you’re already logged into Opus and your permissions allow you to access the relevant features.

Open the Cases Page

Navigate to the Cases page by clicking "Jump To" and then "Cases" near the top of any Opus page.

The Cases page, with the Opus Top Menu and Jump To submenu. Click this image to view a larger version.

Scroll right to see the column "Go to Interfolio" and click on the link "Go to Interfolio."  If you have already linked the case through Opus the link will appear. If not, create a link by following the instructions below.

Open the Case Summary

An alternate way is to click on the  the pencil icon in the left column of its row (see screenshot above). This opens the Case Summary page:

The Case Summary page. Click this image to view a larger version.

Click the “Review Process” link in the Subpage Menu at the left, then click the “Go to Interfolio” button, as shown below. Clicking this button opens Interfolio in a new window.

  !

Note: The Case Summary data must load before the Review Process button is clicked. If the button is clicked before the data has populated on the page, Opus returns an error. Reload the page in your browser to clear this error.

The first time you click the “Go to Interfolio” button in the Case Summary of a particular Opus case, Opus requires that you select an Interfolio template, as shown in the screenshot below.

The Template Selection screen on the Review Process subpage of the Case Summary page. Click this image to view a larger version.

Choose a template and click the “Submit” button, as shown above. Interfolio will open in a new browser window. In the future, if you return to Opus and click the “Go to Interfolio” button again, you’ll skip the template selection (since a template will already have been selected) and go straight to Interfolio. For more information about how Opus and Interfolio relate to each other, see the article, About Opus and Interfolio, linked near the bottom of this page.

Opus’s login system is integrated with Interfolio’s login system. So, being logged into Opus with your UCLA Logon ID, you shouldn’t need to enter login credentials. However, if your UCLA Logon session has expired, you will see the familiar UCLA Logon ID screen. Signing in as usual, you will continue to the Interfolio system, as shown in the screenshot below.

Furthermore, if you have not logged into Interfolio recently (within the last hour or so), the process of going through the UCLA Logon will likely interrupt the automatic redirection. It's likely that you'll land on the Interfolio Dashboard instead of the Case page as shown below. If this happens, simply close the Interfolio tab and click the "Go to Interfolio" button again. For more information see the article, Why Does Interfolio Sometimes Fail to Open a Case Directly? linked below.

Note: Be sure to allow pop ups from your browser to open the Interfolio site.

Once you see a screen like the one above, you've successfully accessed your case in Interfolio.
