End Appointment Action No Longer Available

With the release of Opus 2.5, the End Appointment action is no longer available. If an appointment needs to be ended, users are advised to contact Opus Help.

Some Browsers Behave Unexpectedly

Internet Explorer

  • Performance/Speed Issues

  • Large data sets (high quantities of academic appointees) can result in impaired speed. If you are working with large data sets, please consider using Chrome as it provides the best performance. If your IT team does not allow the usage of Chrome OR if you are a multi-department school and would like to adjust your permissions to work with a smaller data set, please email us at opushelp@ucla.edu.

  • Export to Excel

  • The Export to Excel button on the Active Cases, Eligibility, and Salary Report pages does not work on Internet Explorer. We are researching a fix for this in a future release.

Firefox (PC or Mac)

  • Performance/Speed Issues

  • Large data sets (high quantities of academic appointees) can result in impaired speed. If you are working with large data sets, please consider using Chrome as it provides the best performance. If your IT team does not allow the usage of Chrome OR if you are a multi-department school and would like to adjust your permissions to work with a smaller data set, please email us at opushelp@ucla.edu.

  • Script Error

  • When loading large data sets, Firefox may produce a script error as it works to process the data load. If this occurs, hit Continue. If your IT team does not allow the usage of Chrome OR if you are a multi-department school and would like to adjust your permissions to work with a smaller data set, please email us at opushelp@ucla.edu.

Safari

  • Private Mode Won't Load Data

  • Opus will not load data if Safari is set to Private Mode. If you don't see data loading, ensure your browser is not set to this mode.

Blocking Popup Windows Disables Certain Functionalities

Popup blockers may prevent users from accessing certain Opus features. For example, when clicking the “Go to Interfolio” button on the Case Summary page, if the user’s browser is blocking popup windows, it’s possible that the browser will not open the Interfolio site in a new window. To address this issue, users should either disable the popup blocker feature when using Opus, or add Opus to the list of "allowed" sites in their popup blocker settings. Instructions for individual browsers are beyond the scope of this article, but searching for "popup blocker settings <browser name>" in a web search engine should lead to instructions.
