Department chairs and deans review and communicate about case materials in Interfolio. In addition, deans and chairs also log into Opus, where they perform a range of other activities.


Case materials in Interfolio are often accessed through emails that chairs and deans receive from Interfolio, however deans and chairs can also access these same materials by accessing cases through the Opus interface — these two methods of accessing Interfolio are described in the How to Access Interfolio for… articles linked below. Unless there is a reason to access Opus first, case materials are most easily accessed through the aforementioned notification email. It's worth noting that deans’ involvement with Interfolio case work may vary between schools. For example, some deans may upload materials to a case, while others may have their staff do this for them.


Deans and chairs also log into Opus to find information about cases and appointees in their department/school, including appointee profiles, eligibility information and the salary report.
