Unlike paper forms, Opus cases maintain a clear linkage to a single type of action. In the scenario where a user needs to change the type of action associated with a case, the existing case must be closed or deleted, and a new case should be started in Opus (often the original case will be closed with a “neutral” outcome; see the article on this topic linked below). When an Opus case is restarted, the Interfolio portion should be as well.


For example, in the scenario where the outcome of a case for an Advancement action is “disapproved,” but the appointee’s salary should be increased, the case for the Advancement action is closed with its result noted, and a new case for an Off-Scale Salary Adjustment action is started. This new case is then closed with an outcome of “approved” in Opus.
