If you have either administrator or committee manager privileges in Interfolio, you can communicate with other reviewers and/or with the candidate using that system's built-in emailing features. Note that there are several activities within Interfolio where email notifications are triggered automatically, however these are not covered in this article. Here we focus on explicitly sending an email to either the case candidate or committee members, with the option to attach case documents — sending a message to the candidate as described below is the standard practice for sharing case materials with them in preparation for certification.

Step 1. Log into Interfolio

You can access Interfolio either by clicking on links in an email you receive, or by navigating to their website directly at www.interfolio.com. Instructions for logging in can be found in the How to Access Interfolio for… articles linked near the bottom of this page.


Step 2. View the Cases Page

The first page you see after logging into Interfolio is the Dashboard. Click the "Cases" link on the left, or if the case you want to access is listed in the "Your Action Items" section, click the candidate's name to skip to Step 4 in the appropriate section (sending to either the candidate or committee) below.

Step 3. Open the Case

Interfolio displays a list of cases available to you, identified by candidate. Click the name of the candidate whose case materials you want to view. Depending on whether you want to email the candidate or committee members, continue with Step 4 from the corresponding section below.

Emailing the Candidate

Continue with Step 4 in this section if you want to email the candidate. If you want to email members on the committee, continue with Step 4 in the section below.


Step 4. Click "Case Options" and "Email Candidate"

Interfolio displays the Case page with the case materials tab open. Click the "Case Options" button, and then click "Email Candidate."

Step 5. Add Documents as Required

If you want to share documents from the packet/dossier with the candidate, click the "+ Add" button, then click the "+" button next to each document you want to share.

Step 6. Compose Message and Send

Compose a subject and message for your email, and click the "Send" button.

Emailing Committee Members

Continue with Step 4 in this section if you want to email committee members. If you want to send an email to the candidate, continue instead with Step 4 in the section above.


Step 4. Click "Case Details"

Click the "Case Details" tab.

Step 5. Click "Email" Link

Click the "Email" link in the header of the committee members list.

Step 6. Add Documents, Select Recipients

If you want to share documents from the packet/dossier with the committee, click the "+ Add" button, then click the "+" symbol next to each document you want to share.

You'll notice that a list of names shows up at the top of the page. These are the recipients of this email — click the "x" icon next to each one you would like to remove. Or, to add a recipient, click the "User" or "Committee" link in the "Add Another" area, and search for the name in the interface that appears. Click the search result when your intended recipient is found.

Step 7. Compose Message and Send

Compose a subject and message for your email, and click the "Send" button.
