When a reviewer (committee member, chair, dean) needs access to an Interfolio packet, department staff have to add them to the appropriate committee in Interfolio. For standing committees (in Interfolio, Chairs and Deans are considered to be their own Standing Committee), staff can make committee updates in the Users and Groups section (on the left navigation panel). For ad hoc committees, staff create and update committees in the specific case by clicking the Case Options button and selecting Edit Case.

Step 5. Add the Member
If you have administrator privileges in Interfolio, you can manage permanent membership for Interfolio standing committees in your academic unit. Interfolio admins can also add temporary members to standing or ad-hoc committees.
Adding a Permanent Member
When adding a permanent member to an Interfolio standing committee, the new member can access all open cases and all new cases, whenever these cases are on a step where this committee is assigned. As a permanent member is added in the User & Group Management settings, which is outside the context of any case, it signals that multiple cases are impacted.
Step 1. Open Users & Groups Management
Log into Interfolio and click the "Users & Groups Management" link on the left panel of the Cases page.
Step 2. Select the Committee
Click the "Committees" tab. Interfolio displays a list of committees in your unit. Find the committee where you want to add a new member and edit it by clicking the pencil in its row.

Step 3. Find the User
Enter the new committee member's name in the search field under the list of existing committee members. Interfolio will filter the list to show only those names that match your input. Find the user you want to add and click the "Add" link.

Adding a Temporary Member
Interfolio administrators can follow the below steps, or use the steps shown in the For Committee Managers section above, to add a temporary member to either a standing or ad-hoc Interfolio committee.
Since ad-hoc committees in Interfolio can only be assigned to steps in the same case where they've been created, this gives the new member access to this (and only this) case whenever it's on a step where this ad-hoc committee is assigned. Similarly, temporary members added to standing Interfolio committees also gain access to the current case, whenever the case is on a step where this committee is assigned. However, while these temporary members are only added on this case, this standing committee may still be assigned to steps on other cases, but temporary members will not follow the committee across cases. If a member should be on a committee on more than one case, they may be added as a permanent member, as shown immediately above.
Members can be added to a committee assigned to a case's current step via the Case Details tab as shown above, or in the Case Review Steps interface, as shown below.
