When using the bulk case creation tool, Opus presents a list of appointees for whom cases may be started. The list includes any appointee with an end date, who may be eligible (by virtue of their appointment details) for the action selected when using the tool.

This list will not include any appointees who already have cases underway for the selected action.

This list only includes appointees whose End Dates fall within the current academic year. For example, a common scenario would be that in late May the tool is used to renew appointments ending on June 30th. Another example would be that in early October the tool is used to re-appoint fall quarter-only lecturers, with winter or spring End Dates.

The bulk Reappointment tools should not be used where approval from the dean is required (e.g. Visiting Professors). As a result appointments in the following titles are excluded from the bulk reappointment tool:

  • all Visiting titles
  • Recall titles
  • all Instructor titles
  • Clinical Volunteer series
