By assigning a committee to a case step in Interfolio you grant access to the case for the members of that committee, whenever the case is at that step. By adjusting committee assignment, you control both who can access a case, and when they can access it.


There are two types of committees in Interfolio: Standing (can be assigned to steps in multiple cases) and Ad Hoc (can only be assigned to steps in the case where it's created). Step 1. Log into Interfolio

You can access Interfolio either by clicking on links in a case notification email you receive, or by navigating to their website directly at www.interfolio.com. Instructions for logging in can be found in the article How to Access Interfolio for Administrators, linked near the bottom of this page.


Step 2. View the Cases Page

When you first log in, Interfolio shows you the Dashboard page. Click the "Cases" link at the left.

Step 3. Open the Case

Click the candidate's name in the list that appears.

Step 4. Open Case Review Steps

Click the "Case Options" button and then the "Edit Case" link. Click the "Case Review Steps" link in the page that opens, as shown below.

Step 5. Edit a Step

Find the step where you want to add the committee and click the pencil icon in the header for that section.

Step 6. Search for Existing or Create Ad Hoc

Click the "+ Add Committee" link in the modal window that appears.

The interface for selecting the type of committee you want to add appears. There are two types of committees used for Opus cases: standing and ad-hoc. Select an option.

If you're adding a standing committee, enter the name of that committee in the search box. If you need to create a new standing committee, see the article on creating committees for use with multiple cases, linked near the bottom of this page.

If you're adding an ad-hoc committee, either enter the name for a new committee (this will create a new committee) or enter the name for a committee previously created for this case.

Step 7. Click "Add"

Click the "+ Add" button.

Note that the committee now shows up in the Edit Step modal window.
