If you are starting a case for someone who is currently a UCLA employee or was a UCLA employee within the past two years, use the UCLA Search. Use the Recruit search if it's a brand new candidate from Recruit with no prior UCLA appointment.

Using the UCLA Search whenever possible ensures that new appointments are associated with the same profiles in Opus as prior appointments, and eliminates the issues described in the below article about UIDs.

Note: If you are starting a case for someone who meets the first criteria, but Recruit was used during the course of the recruitment, please still use the UCLA Search option, and make a note of the Recruit tracking number in the comments for the Opus case. The comment feature can be found on the "Final Decision" table in the Case Summary – click the "talk bubble" icon and enter the Recruit number in the window that appears.
