Opus includes an Endowed Chairs report by status and unit, and a summary of the recent chair holder history for each chair.
Academic personnel staff can create an Endowed Chair Appointment case for a specific endowed chair.
Endowed Chair Report
Access
Departments and dean's offices have access to view chairs in their unit. Chair information is only editable by AAPO. If you see an error in one of your endowed chairs, please contact AAPO.

"Change Columns" "Opus Standard View" and "Export to Excel" are located above the report table.
Additional data is available for your report
Chair Status
Chairs are grouped by status and will be moved to the appropriate tab by AAPO as the Chair's status is updated.
- Active Chairs are currently established.
- Pending Chairs are in the process of being established, but are not yet active.
- Chairs in the Modification Request tab are being reviewed for a specific change.
- Disestablished Chairs are no longer active and have been disestablished.
- Inactive Chairs are not currently active at UCLA, but may become active again.
- Incomplete Chairs started the establishment process, but were never approved.
All currently active and pending chairs are listed, however you will not see a complete history of all disestablished or inactive chairs.
Designation
The designation column provides a brief description of the Chair, summarizing the most important details. If the Chair is Administrative, the designation may include the Administrative title associated with the Chair. Departments should check with their dean’s office or development office for further details about the Chair.
Chair Holders
If a Chair has a current chair holder, you will see the faculty member's name in the Chair Holder column. If there is no current chair holder, the chair holder column will be empty and the "Date Chair Last Vacated" column will show the date that the most recent chair appointment ended.
If there is a case pending for a given chair, the case icon will be displayed.
