My Activities Reporting

This feature allows you to generate exportable reports of your teaching, advising, scholarly works, service, grants, awards, and honors.

Navigate to the Forms & Reports page. Under Reports click on “My Activities” Reporting.

After you click on “My Activities Reporting,” you’ll see a form you can configure to report on your data.

Under “Measure of Teaching” you can select whether you want to display enrollment, student credit hours, credit hours, teaching load, or course sections.

Enrollment shows the number of students enrolled in the course. We use the enrollment snapshot from the third week in the quarter.

Student Credit Hours shows the “Credit Hours” multiplied by the “Enrollment” for each Subject Area/Term.

Credit Hours will show the total number of Units for each Subject Area/Term. Variable unit courses are listed without units in Faculty 180.

UCLA does not calculate Teaching Load in Faculty 180 - choosing this value will display “0” in the report.

Course Sections will show the total (or average) number of sections per Subject Area/Term.

Under “Status” choose the Publication statuses you want to include.

By default published and accepted works are included.

Under Grant Status choose the Grant statuses you want to include.

By default grants in progress or completed are included.

Choose the Begin and End terms

In Faculty 180, every activity is associated with a term rather than a date. Instead of filtering your report by a date range, choose the term range. For example, if you want a report for the last five years, you might choose to begin in Fall 2015 and end in Spring 2020.

Choose the Display Mode

  • Count Only: shows the total number of records per term

  • Rows - % of Total Rows: shows the count of records per term and the percentage of the row total.

  • Columns - % of Total of Columns: shows the count of records per term and the percentage of the column total.

  • % Total of Grand Total: shows the count of records per term and the percentage of the grand total of records.

Choose Activity Classifications

Choosing an Activity Classifications might not be worth your effort. Activity Classifications are like metadata tags that allow departments to supplement the fields with other data they want to track. These classifications can be used to filter a report or CV. An example of Activity Classifications: “Intellectual Contributions: Review Type” would allow you to filter the report to only include works which are “Peer Reviewed”.

Click “Build Report”

If you choose to display data for multiple terms, you’ll see the count of activities per term. The screenshot below reflects the choices made above (Measure of Teaching = Enrollments; Publication Status = Completed/Published or Accepted; Grant Status = Completed or Funded-in-Progress).

For example, in the Winter 2016 column in the screenshot above: the UCLA Teaching Record row displays 144 to reflect 144 students taught; the Scholarly & Creative Works row displays 2 to reflect two works Completed/Published or Accepted. Clicking on any count allows you to drill down into that activity in that term. The screenshot below is what you see when you click on the “2” for Winter 2016 Scholarly & Creative Works.

You can export the data by clicking “Actions” at the top right of the page, and choosing the output format.
