If you see something incorrect in Opus, such as an appointee with an incorrect end date, or an appointee with the wrong affiliation, we ask that you help us correct these mistakes. Fortunately, this is easy — it’s simply a matter of following either of the two steps below.

This article tells you how to correct mistakes in Opus. The instructions assume you’re already logged into Opus and your permissions allow you to access the relevant features. For info about interface elements or a particular Opus page, check out the other articles on this support site — some of these articles are linked near the bottom of this page.

1. Contact Your Dean’s Office

That’s right — you just need to get in touch with the academic personnel coordinator in your dean’s (or vice chancellor’s) office. Please include:

  • Appointee's name

  • Appointee's UID

  • Description of the error, including what the data is, what it should be, and an explanation of why

Your dean's or vice chancellor's office will reach out to the Office of Academic Personnel (APO), who will log into Opus and use their administrative tools to edit the data.

2. Alternatively, Open an Opus Support Ticket

If you have a question about data, or if you’re not sure about what you’re seeing, you can also (as a secondary resort only, please) contact the Opus team for help. They will try to answer any questions you may have. See the link below for information about contacting us. Again, be sure to include the following:

  • Appointee's name

  • Appointee's UID

  • Description of the error, including what the data is, what it should be, and an explanation of why
