Recusing administrators in Interfolio is done for a range of reasons, some of which are "traditional" (conflicts of interest, etc.), and some of which — under UCLA's implementation of the Opus/Interfolio integration — are administrative. Regarding the latter, this task arises from the fact that Interfolio administrators have access to all cases started in their unit, or in a unit within their unit, for the entire duration of these cases — this is how Interfolio works. However, UCLA APO policy is such that administrators should not have case access once the case is "sent forward" from their unit to the next. Case access is brought into line with this policy by recusing Interfolio admins at case (and template) steps past their unit. For a thorough explanation of this topic, see the article Who Should Have Access to Case Steps in Interfolio? linked near the end of this article.

This article tells you how to recuse a user from a case step in Interfolio. It assumes you are logged into Interfolio, that you've opened a case, and that you have the appropriate permissions to access the interfaces necessary to perform recusals (i.e., that you're an Interfolio administrator). If your permissions are not at this level (so, if you're a committee manager or committee member only) please contact an Interfolio administrator in your academic unit for assistance.
